Carl Click is an Emmy Award winning newscaster who’s covered news and sports in the Portland television market for more than 30 years.

Carl is a native of Vancouver, WA, and still lives in his hometown with his wife. He has two grown children.

Along with helping KATU earn an Emmy for “Best Morning Newscast,” he's won reporting awards from the Associated Press, Society of Professional Journalists, and the Radio and Television News Director Association.

He was inducted into the Clark County Hall of Fame in 2008, and into The Clark County Today Foundation’s High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.

Carl studied broadcast journalism at Washington State University and was awarded the school's prestigious Edward R. Murrow award.

Upon graduation in 1983, he went to work in Portland TV as a sports reporter. In 1989 he switched to news and feature reporting, and has anchored local newscasts since 1993.

Carl has also been the voice of high school sports in Vancouver since 1994. Each fall, high school sports fans can hear Carl's play-by-play of high school football playoff games from around the state. And every March, he announces high school basketball games at the state tournament back to Clark County.

He is currently the girl’s basketball coach at Columbia River High School, and helps coach tennis at Skyview High School.

Away from the newsroom Carl volunteers for many community activities. He is a mentor in Fort Vancouver High School’s Dynamic Young Men program. He has served as Chair of the Vancouver School District’s Citizen's Committee for Good Schools. He has served on the Board of Directors for Salmon Creek Little League, and the WSYSA Board of Directors for Southwest Washington youth soccer.

In his spare time Carl enjoys bike-riding, playing golf, and painting watercolors. In 2012 he completed his first triathlon.
