Anna Song anchors the weekend evening news for KATU. The shows at 5PM and 6PM Saturdays and Sundays are the most-watched weekend newscasts in the area. She also reports during the week as part of KATU's On Your Side investigative team.

Anna has been recognized as one of the best broadcast journalists in the region. Winner of an Emmy for a Human Interest News Series, she's also an 11-time Emmy nominee. She was honored in 2007 with the Regional Edward R. Murrow award for investigative reporting.

She has received 10 Oregon Associated Press awards in categories such as investigative reporting, hard news coverage, news writing, documentary, and feature reporting. She won the first place Oregon AP award for best news writing in 2005, 2006, and 2007. Anna's extensive coverage of the Oregon City girls case in 2002 helped lead KATU to a Regional Murrow Award for Continuing Coverage.

Anna was born in Taiwan and came to the United States with her family when she was 2 years old. She grew up in northeast Portland and graduated from Parkrose High School. She spent much of her young life helping her mother clean rooms and manage a 28-unit motel, The Prestige Inn, on Sandy Boulevard.

Anna attended Pepperdine University on an academic scholarship and graduated with degrees in broadcast journalism and international business. While in southern California, she worked as a desk assistant with ABC NewsOne and as an intern at KABC-TV in Los Angeles.

She began her career at KATU as an intern, and returned in 1999 to begin reporting. She was promoted to weekend news anchor in 2003, and to the On Your Side Investigative Team in 2007.

Anna is co-founder of the Bald Faced Truth Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports local kids in the arts, education and athletics. She's an honorary board member of the Assistance League of Portland. And she is an avid motivational speaker, available for schools and community groups.
