Aphrodite's Granola

APHRODITE’S GRANOLA by Sara Suffriti

¾ lb butter
½ cup honey
4 cups rolled oats
1 cup wheat germ
½ cup sliced raw almonds
½ cup walnuts
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp pure vanilla extract
½ cup sliced dried fig (see directions first)
1 chopped apple
 
Melt butter together and mix with honey and vanilla.  Combine this with dry ingredients.
Place on large cookie sheet.
Bake in 325 degree oven for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
Bake until color gets golden.
Add chopped fig when granola is removed from oven.
Store in airtight container.
