Portland Bull Riders Invitational

You won’t even need your whole seat … just the edge … when you watch the Top 40 bull riders in the world climbing onto the fiercest bucking bulls as the Professional Bull Riders nationally-televised Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) returns to the Rose Garden for the Portland Invitational on February 4 – 5, 2011. Fans will be able to experience 8-second rides and jaw-dropping wrecks as the best bull riders on the planet try to stay on animals that are 10 times their size.
Portland is the fifth of 28 stops on the 2011 BFTS schedule, which begins at world-famous Madison Square Garden in New York on January 7 – 9 and concludes October 26 – 30 in Las Vegas with the PBR World Finals, where the 2011 PBR World Champion will be crowned and awarded a $1 million bonus.
Fans will be able to cheer for Oregonian, six time winner at PBR, Ross Coleman, who will travel less than an hour from Molalla, OR, and Cody Campbell, who hails from Summerville, OR. Shane Proctor of Grand Coulee, WA won in Portland in 2009, finishing 3/4 of a point in front of Valdiron de Oliveira of Aparecida de Goiania, Brazil.

The scores from the rides on Friday, February 4 and Saturday, February 5 will be combined and the riders with the top 15 scores will advance to the Built Ford Tough Championship Round where they will compete with one more bull which will be held immediately after intermission on Saturday, February 5. The rider with the highest total score after the championship round will be the winner.
