Food Memoir Author Gabrielle Hamilton

Blood, Bones and Butter is an unconventional memoir by Gabrielle Hamilton about food, purpose, and family that begins with Gabrielle’s childhood living with her parents and four siblings in a burnt-out nineteenth-century silk mill in rural Pennsylvania where her father used to throw amazing parties to the dismantling of her family after her mother moved, leaving Gabrielle to support herself as a teenager by lying about her age and working in restaurants and bars and participating in all kinds of questionable, dramatic, and often illegal behavior before finally finding her place as a restaurant owner and then to honing her craft as a writer.

Gabrielle showed us how to make wilted dandelion greens and skordalia.
