Be the Match Registry
Every year, more than 10,000 patients in the U.S. are diagnosed with life-threatening diseases such as leukemia or lymphoma, and their best or only hope of a cure is a transplant from an unrelated donor. Delores Rue-Jones, Northwest Area Coordinator for Be the Match and Roxanne Mercado, who needs a transplant to cure her Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, joined us to share why the need is so great.
It's easy to sign up to Be the Match. All it takes is four swabs of different parts of the inside of your cheek to join the registry. It is free to join, but donors are asked to make a donation if they can to cover the cost of testing and registering the swabs.
