Cheating on the Rise

Diane Dennis, Life Transition Coach, told us about the new relationship trend: Go or Stray Replaces Go or Stay.

The new trends of sexting, online flirting, reconnecting with old lovers through Facebook, hall passes and cheating is on the rise for committed couples. And, divorce rates are down. According to a recent online study conducted by Ashley Madison, a dating website promoting cheating, sexting is on the rise for both genders in committed relationships. And, women are more likely to meet with their potential lover than men increasing the risk of infidelity.

Diane had advice for combating the urge to stray just because your marriage is less than perfect:

Learn communication skills (Smart Heart Dialogue)
Learn how to make a request to get your needs met
Ladies: How and when to talk to “him” when you want to get his attention
Find ways to add back surprise, anticipation, excitement, passion (things people want when looking outside marriage)

What doesn’t work & adds to the discontent
Cajoling, whining, threatening,
Criticism, contempt, defensiveness, stonewalling
