"Fight Club" Author Chuck Palahnuik

Chuck Palahnuik is the author of the bestselling Fight Club, Survivor; Invisible Monsters; Choke, Lullaby; Diary; Haunted; Rant; Snuff and Pygmy.  He has over 5 million copies of his books in print.  Fight Club is celebrating it's 15th anniversary this year. He joined us today to tell us about his new novel Damned.
Fight Club was directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.  In 2009, Choke was released and starred Sam Rockwell and Anjelica Huston.  All of Chuck's other novels are optioned for film.
The Cult of Chuck is huge and still growing – he has nearly 350,000 friends on Facebook.  His target demographic is the Holy Grail of publishing: 18-24 year old men.  His readings hum with rock concert energy - with groupies that come in costume and bring props - and have literally spilled over, stopped traffic, required EMS assistance and draw hundreds of people.
Before hitting bestseller lists across the world, Chuck worked at Freightliner, a truck manufacturing company, for years on the assembly line and ended up writing their training manuals until hitting the big time with Fight Club.  And his writing ethic is still going strong: he still meets with his writing group every Thursday night.

Chuck has a book event at the Baghdad Theater at 7:00 tomorrow night.
