Get Going Oregon

Lifestyle changes can help prevent and even treat diabetes.  Al Partridge, a diabetes patient and Andrew Ahmann, MD, Executive Director at the Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center at OHSU joined us to share why diabetes is on the rise and what you can do to cut your risks or reverse the effects of the disease.

To that end, they're both participating in Get Going Oregon!  The program hopes to motivate Oregonians to walk, run, bicycle, swim (or whatever physical activity you choose) at least 30 minutes a day for 30 days in order to create a new and healthy habit! Get Going Oregon! will raise awareness and funds to benefit the Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Health Center at Oregon Health & Science University.

Get Going Oregon! runs through the month of October 2011, a month-long activity challenge, culminating, in conjunction with the World Diabetes Day events in downtown Portland. For more information on Get Going Oregon!, visit the website.
