New York Style Pushcart Dog Bar

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Hillshire Farm® Polska Kielbasa bun-sized Smoked Sausages
  • 1 package Ball Park franks (flavor of your choice)
  • 2 packages Sara Lee® hot dog buns
  • 1 bottle deli-style mustard (Dijon or whole grain mustard)
  • 2 cups sauerkraut
  • 2 cups chopped onions

Serves 8

Method:

  1. Grill or steam smoked sausages and hot dogs according to package directions (*See Labor Free Serving Tip below for crock pot and wrapping instructions).
  2. Set up a condiment bar with mustard, sauerkraut and onions.
  3. Let each guest customize his/her hot dogs and sausages to order.

Labor Free Serving Tip:

  1. Use your crock pot as a steamer, and let your guests help themselves to a hot snack throughout the duration of the game.
  2. Place a slightly dampened cloth or towel along the bottom of the crock pot.
  3. Turn on lowest setting to begin warming.
  4. Place the lid back on the empty crock pot.

Wrapping Your Pushcart Dogs:

  1. Lay out an 8.5" x 11" piece of wax paper for each hot dog/sausage.
  2. Place a cooked sausage or frank into a bun, and place bun across the center of the wax paper.
  3. 6. Starting at one corner of the wax paper, wrap the hot dog by folding the corner flap over the hot dog, toward the opposite diagonal corner. When rolling into the center, fold both the right and left side flaps toward the center, and then continue rolling in the same direction.
  4. 7. Place wrapped hot dogs inside the crock pot, on top of the dampened cloth. Stack with hot dogs until the crock pot is full, and cover to keep warm. Enjoy as you watch the game!

Dog Bar Variation #3: Ale Sautéed Onions with Brie and Dijon

Ingredients:

  • For the Ale Sautéed Onions:
  • 2 medium yellow onions, cut into strips
  • 8 oz. of your favorite ale beer

Method:

  1. Heat a large sauté pan at medium-high heat for 3 minutes.
