Money Saving Wedding Tips

Our favorite wedding coordinator, Nora Totonchy, shares easy way to cut down on the cost of weddings.

Saving Money on Your Wedding

  • Gown
    • Purchase a Discontinued Dress
    • Wearing a bridesmaids dress is a great alternative, some are very formal and can easily pass as a bridal gown.
  • Flowers
    • Candles for centerpieces
    • Pick flowers that are in season
  • Wedding Party
    • Smaller the party, the less money you will spend on gifts, flowers, transportation, etc.
  • Guest List
    • Smaller the list, less money you will spend on food, rentals, flowers, everything.
  • Venue/Catering
    • Look for a food and beverage minimum—no rental fee.
    • Check menus, sometimes a sit down is less expensive.
    • Reduce the number of courses or avoid a cocktail hour.
  • Date
    • Go for Sunday or Friday instead of Saturday.
    • Off Season (November-April)
    • Time of day: Early in the day is less expensive.
  • Hire a Wedding Planner
    • They know the industry, and how to get bargains
    • Has relationships with vendors that transfers to discounts
    • They know what to look out for on contracts
