Since her first international race at the age of 14, Dara Torres has proven she is far from your average athlete. Since then, she’s won 12 Olympic medals and balances her time between a rigorous training schedule and being a great mother to her two-year-old daughter.

In her new role as a National PTA Ambassador, Torres joins millions of parents and educators working toward improving the lives of children, as well as urging parents and families to be more involved.  Torres follows in the footsteps of dozens of community leaders, celebrities, legislators and U.S. Presidents, all of whom have lent their voices and support to the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation.
