Wrongly Convicted
Imagine spending decades in prison for a crime you didin't commit. Unfortunately this is a reality for inmates who've been wrongly convicted. But now a thanks to a pioneering unit in the Dallas County's D.A.'s office, post-conviction DNA testing is being used to clear the innocent as well as confirm the guilty. Since the program's inception in 2001, more than 40 cases have received post-conviction DNA evidence--resulting in 19 deemed as wrongful convictions. |
