What to Read to Your Children When
Pam Allyn, a children's literacy expert/advocate, and author of What To Read When: The Books and Stories to Read With Your Child--and All the Best Times To Read Them-- told us that children's reading skills and love of books thrive when ritual is in place. Pam believes that having a nightly ritual of reading to your child in the kitchen while you cook dinner together is wonderful opportunity to bond amongst two great pleasures in life: food and books. Says Pam, "He helps you stir and turn the pages and you read, and season, read and season."
