Beat the Winter Blues

Dr. James Mol, from Providence Behavioral Health, joined us today with great tips for dealing with the winter doldrums.

Things that can be challenging right now include:
• Financial stresses, especially following the holidays
• Dreary, rainy weather
• Setting high “new year resolutions” expectations

Some overall good things to do to stay balanced:
• Exercise and have a good diet
• Get enough sleep
• Make and maintain commitments
• Make and maintain connections
• Talk with trusted people or professional counselor
• Misc.:  Plan a vacation/getaway/break, make time for fun every day
• Stay organized (including prioritizing tasks/activities)
• Take some time for reflection – putting things in their proper perspective
