Basic Bike Maintenance

Bike Maintenance Expert Kurt Buddendeck joined us today to show us how to better take care of our bikes.

Basic Bike Maintenance

Before every ride, we should:
1. Check tire pressure and feel.
2. Check chain to see if it’s lubed.

Other basics:
• Make sure your bike has proper reflectors and/or lights (depending on what time of day you’re riding)
• Clean your bike often – it’s a great way to find maintenance issues
• Replace your helmet every 3-4 years if it’s well-used.  (If you’ve been in a fall with it, might need to change it now.)
