5-Minute Makeover

As a brand new mom, Makeup Artist and Stylist Kendra Stanton knows it's not always easy to find time to put on makeup in the morning.  But Kendra knows that looking good can help you feel good.  She says that if you can find five minutes, you have time to look beautiful.

Here are Kendra's 5 Steps to a 5-Minute Makeover:

Step 1: Even Out the Skin Tone
I recommend using a tinted moisturizer to even out skin tone and moisturize in one simple step. This will help reduce reds and discoloration. No need to be exact because the goal is to simply brighten the overall face.

Step 2: Use a Concealer Around the Eyes
Make sure to cover not only the under eye area but the tear ducts and the area from the eyelid to brow bone.  This will serve as a highlighter for the eyes. If you are a victim of dark circles, use a concealer the same shade as your skin tone with a hint of pink. This will counteract the blue undertones in the dark circles. Follow this with a concealer that is an exact match to your skin tone.

Step 3: Use Colors that Compliment your Eye Color
Congrats to all my brown eyed girls. You can pull off any color. Women with green, blue, or hazel eyes should stick with pinks, browns, and bronze colors. Instead of using multiple eye shadows, substitute your bronzer and blush. Just make sure to have a darker brown shadow for some quick contouring. Sweep your bronzer into the crease of your brow bone for definition, then follow it with a touch of blush for even more brightening. Next, line your eyes by applying a dark brown eye shadow wiht an angled line brush.  This is much easier than using a pencil! Finally make sure to curl your lashes and apply some mascara. This will make your eyes pop and eliminate a tired appearance.

Step 4: Bronze and Blush
Apply bronzer to the sun exposed areas of your face. Make sure to cover your forehead, cheek bones and nose. Apply the same color of blush that you just used on your eyelids to the apples of the cheeks. Make sure that your blush is the right color. Many women shy away from brighter blushes when they actually do a great job of brightening the face. Always remember, a little bit of bright-colored blush goes a long way!

Step 5: Line and Color the Lips
Use a lip pencil. This will help keep color on your lips -- even if your gloss, lipstick or chapstick wear off. I would recommend wearing a pink-toned lipgloss over a nude lipliner. This will make your lips look irresistible.
