Family Matters: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One in eight women will develop breast cancer during their lifetime. This year alone, 227,000 women will be diagnosed in the United States, and 40,000 will die. While those numbers are numbing, another statistic is inspiring – today, in our nation, three million women are breast cancer survivors.
And Michelle Judson, mother of three young children, is one of those survivors. Michelle was diagnosed with breast cancer while still breastfeeding her youngest child. She joined us to share her personal story. Michelle's oncologist, Dr. Ali Conlin with Providence Cancer Center, also joined us talk about why, when it comes breast cancer, it pays to know your ENTIRE family's history!
