The Portland Bridal Show for 2012 is proof positive that no matter what the budget may be in a down economy…the wedding must go on!  From the most elegant gown to very practical edible table displays, brides-to-be will find it all at the Northwest’s largest wedding event.

Samantha Lockwood of Sophie Bridal Couture gave us a preview of what the most fashionable brides will be wearing this wedding season.

Now in its 33rd year, the Show’s exhibition of bridal fashion, photography, catering, honeymoon travel, and “everything wedding” will set the tone for the 2012 wedding season (May-September in Oregon) and will run January 7th and 8th at the Oregon Convention Center. The event is expected to draw over 9,500 visitors. Tickets will be $9 at the door, with advance-purchase coupons available at TicketsWest.com.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet over 150 bridal experts offering a wide variety of wedding related businesses.  Brides will find wedding services that they may have never dreamed of such as A Step Above – custom wedding staging, Dancing in the Rain dance lessons, Best Car In Town limo service featuring a ’48 Rolls Royce, and An Affair To Remember – event planning and design.  Traditional Northwest wedding related companies include Macy’s Wedding & Gift Registry, Kassab Jewelers, Kitchen Kaboodle, Skamania Lodge, Lan Su Chinese Garden, the Portland Spirit river ships, Paparazzi Photo Booths and scores more.
          The 2012 Portland Bridal Show provides the opportunity for brides to pre-register online at the event’s website: portlandbridalshow.com.  Not only will attendees save time by not having to fill out entry forms at the Show, but also they will be eligible for gifts from select exhibitors.   
          The bridal industry has traditionally weathered most economic downturns.  Indications are that brides will be fulfilling their dream weddings with one eye looking out for values.  Many of the event’s exhibitors will offer Show specials featuring added savings if the bride purchases within a short timeframe.

 Note:   Due to the popularity of the Portland Bridal Show and to the limits on room capacity, the show is held in "movie theatre" type showings. Each show includes a fashion show and time to visit exhibitors (before, during and after the fashion show). We have three shows on Saturday and two shows on Sunday. All shows are the same. Please Note: If an attendee chooses to come to an earlier show – they are welcome to stay all day. The show closes at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
