Providence Festival of Trees
Christmas is in the air and everywhere else at the Oregon Convention Center-- it's the 30th annual Providence Festival of Trees. Kelly Beochler, with Providence Portland Foundation, shared a few facts about the event; the festival is filled with 100 trees of all sizes, wreaths and holiday vignettes created by local designers, businesses and volunteers. Live music, Santa photos, a teddy bear hospital, elaborate gingerbread houses, model trains winding through mini-mountains and cookie decorating promise hours of entertainment for those who attend. The event seeks to raise $500,000. A portion of this amount will help fund cancer research conducted at Providence Cancer Center. The remaining funds will go to Providence Child Center, and Providence Medication Assistance Program.
