Pete Townshend, "The Who" guitarist, songwriter and screenwriter has been writing Who I am, his long-awaited memoir,  for 15 years. According to Townshend, “Whenever I write about my life and work, I learn something …So, the year ahead spent writing will also trigger the last vital bit of ‘growing up’ required by the now pensionable fellow who once wrote 'I hope I die before I get old'.”

Pete shared a few stories from his book, including why he wanted to be journalist and not a musician, why "The Who" originally had a different name and why we planned to write his memoir four decades ago.
