What You Can Learn From Difficult People

According to NYT bestselling author and psychiatrist Judith Orloff MD, when faced with difficult personalities such as self-centered narcissists or rageaholics, most of us react by either clenching up in frustration or aggressively trying to take control of the conversation.

In her new book The Ecstasy of Surrender: 12 Surprising Ways Letting Go Can Empower Your Life she says there's a better way: let go of your need to control, get in the flow, work with their foibles, and pick the right moments to be assertive. Dr. Orloff shared practical, specific strategies for communicating with difficult personality types.

Dr. Orloff has a book signing event at 7:00 tonight at Powell's Books located at 3415 SW Cedar Hills Blvd in Beaverton.
