As a little girl, Germaine Barnard learned from her mom how to sew. Originally from Pleasant Hill, Calif., Germaine decided to pursue a career in fashion after high school. At The Art Institute of Portland, Germaine threw herself into the program and loved every minute of it. A huge fan of working as a team, she worked with several other students last year to design and construct separate collections for an eco-friendly fashion show at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee. She loves to read, and pulls from literature for design inspiration.
