Just thought I would give this a quick mention for all you sport anglers out there.

During our travels, I happened to stumble across a brochure about the Idlewild Chinook Challenge, an upcoming fishing tournament being held out of Garibaldi, Oregon, and thought I would pass the information along to anyone interested.

The tournament will be held October 10-12 in the Tillamook and Nehalem estuaries and here are the prizes up for grabs:

17 and over - entry fee is $100

  • 1st place - $1,000
  • 2nd place - $500
  • 3rd place - $250

16 and under - entry fee is $25

  • 1st place - $250
  • 2nd place - $125
  • 3rd place - $50

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Regional Food Bank of Tillamook County.  Click here for more details.
