51-day dry streak ends as rain dots PDX

PORTLAND, Ore. -- It's been over 7 weeks since rain last fell in Portland, but our 51-day streak is no more.
A paltry 0.04" fell at PDX early Monday morning, the first measurable rain since July 21.
The streak will end in 8th place but just a few days' short of making it into the top 3. We were nowhere near the record set in 1967 when essentially the entire summer went dry-- 71 straight dry days between June 23 through Sept. 1.
Our friends to the north in Seattle also had their long dry-streak snapped at 48 days -- their second longest, but they were much, much closer to their all-time record of 51 days. It was just 0.01" of rain at Sea-Tac Airport right before midnight -- barely enough to wet the ground but enough to count.
BELOW ARE THE TOP 10 DRY STREAKS AT PORTLAND AIRPORT...

I WANT RAINÂ TO PUT THESE FIRES OUT AND WATER THESE TREES
Like a true native to Oregon.... I miss the rain.
It was nice to get a little rain
Anyone see all of those chemtrails saturday...it made the sky gray or overcast. They sprayed right before the new storm came through...
@portlandborn83 What are you talking about?
Ah, yes. The joy of awakening in the dark hours to the sound of sweet rain, and the realization that the top is still off the jeep...
@Dienekes4160 Nothing beats the thrill of throwing your top and doors on, from the light of a quickly approaching lightning storm.

The last day with any relevant rain (> 0.10 inches) was July 15th. Â 0.04 in is barely enough to count!
