Miss the Northwest rain? This video will help

It's been a whopping 27 days since it last rained in Portland as of Thursday, and aside from some isolated thunderstorms Saturday, the forecasts don't hold out much hope for any kind of widespread rain still for several more days.
Instead, sunshine and 95-100 degree heat beat down on the Willamette Valley and I'll bet many longtime Northwesterners might find themselves missing our gentle rains a bit. I know I sure do.
If so, I've got 5 minutes and 48 seconds of bliss:
This is video shot by YouTube contributor MclaughlinTV of the rains that fell up in Seattle on July 3, 2012
I'm not sure what it is about the rain that is so soothing to many, including me, but I for one can watch this video over and over...
But if living in past isn't your thing and you need to reconnect to the gray, check out this relatively new site from the National Weather Service. (Note: as of Thursday, the cameras seem to have not updated since Aug. 13)

Its official intention is to show the current conditions along the bars on the ocean beaches, but for those of us who aren't bar pilots, it provides a live peek in on the coast, which is commonly gray and cloudy even when the sun's out here.
It can also be a great resource if you're planning a trip out there to see if you'll find sunshine there as well.
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go watch that rain video again...
Scott, a friend and I have a friendly summer-long wager about the number of days from June 15th to September 15th that will have measurable rainfall in Portland. We set the line at 15, and I took the over.
Â
Unfortunately, we lost track. Can you point me to a website that has the records of daily rainfall in Portland? A casual Google search came up dry (pun intended).
i want more rainÂ
The rain in Oregon makes me crazy in January and February and I have complained much about it. Last night I was so thankful for the cooling off that I was crying and thanking Heavenly Father for it. It is doubtful that I will complain about Oregon rain again.
fuuny
Portland Oregon, 3 1/2 seasons.
Â
I don't "miss" the rain so much as I anticipate it. Here we have a good Fall, something like a winter, only not really (the 1/2 season), a Spring that makes other places jealous, and a summer. It comes late, often stays too briefly, but beats the heat of the Midwest and the humidity of the south.
Â
It will be with us soon enough.

Ah! Thanks so much for that video; yes, I mightily miss the grey, rainy, misty weather we enjoy for much of the year. With no AC here at home, yesterday was a terrible challenge. Watching this helps.
