BATTLE GROUND, Wash. – A woman who was missing for about 20 hours after going out for a walk was found safe on Thursday afternoon.

Betty Kramer, 86, went out for her daily walk around 4 p.m. Wednesday in Battle Ground. When she didn't return by 6 p.m. her family got worried and started looking for her. At 9 p.m. they called police.

Rescuers from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office spent Wednesday night and the day on Thursday searching for Kramer and found her around 2 p.m.

She was huddled along a spur road about five miles from her house, according to Sgt. Fred Neiman.

Neiman said Kramer was in good shape, but was taken to be evaluated by a doctor as a precaution.

Search and rescue crews worked all night looking for Kramer and a Coast Guard helicopter crew with an infrared camera helped in the search.
