BEAVERTON, Ore. – One person was seriously injured when their SUV crashed into trees and a fence in Beaverton Sunday morning.
Police said the driver of a Ford Escape, 51-year-old Michael Babcock, was traveling westbound on Southwest Brockman Street near Davies Road at 8:30 a.m. when the SUV left the road, hitting a fence and several trees. It came to rest on a concrete retaining wall.
Police said Babcock had been drinking before the crash. He is still in the hospital.
Paramedics took Babcock to a hospital with what appeared to be life-threatening injuries.
There were no passengers in the SUV, police said.
Police said excessive speed did not appear to be a factor.
