BEAVERTON, Ore. - TriMet is offering a reward to find out who grabbed two large rocks and put them on the MAX tracks early Thursday morning.

It was around 5 a.m. when a Blue Line train heading into the Millikan Way MAX station hit one of those rocks and a hydraulic line on one of the cars was damaged. The train had to be removed from service and early estimates put the cost of the damage at around $20,000.

TriMet believes they found the source of the rocks, a nearby landscaping project, but they don't know who is responsible for trespassing into a MAX right of way and putting the rocks on a track.

TriMet is now offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the capture of the person(s) responsible. Anyone arrested in connection with the incident could face a first-degree criminal mischief charge, which is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

If you have information that can help investigators, call (503) 238-RIDE (7433).
