PORTLAND, Ore. - A few lucky people in downtown Portland cashed in when a man walked into a bank, withdrew a bunch of cash and then threw it into the air when he hit the sidewalk.
It rained money Wednesday afternoon outside the Bank of America at 1001 S.W. 5th.
A woman we talked to, who did not want to be identified, said for the past two days a young man has gone into the bank around 3 p.m., withdrawn a large sum of money and then gone outside and thrown the cash into the air.
Although the bank is mum on what happened, police confirm they did respond to the location twice in the past couple of days to keep the peace during it all.
At first, it sounds like something someone would do during the holidays to be generous, but police believe the man who did this may be suffering from a mental health issue. They are reaching out to his family to let them know what has been going on.
