Driver charged with DUII after hitting TriMet bus, police say
Torgan James Wilkinson

PORTLAND, Ore. – The driver of a pickup truck that crashed into a TriMet bus Wednesday night was arrested for DUII.

Police said 23-year-old Torgan James Wilkinson T-boned the bus at about 8:30 p.m. at N.W. 9th and N.W. Everett. The bus was southbound on 9th when it was hit by the truck, which was heading east on Everett.

None of the 14 people on the bus was seriously injured, though one was taken to the hospital and two more had minor injuries.

About 15 gallons of fuel from the two vehicles leaked onto the street.

Jail records show that Wilkinson faces charges of DUII, reckless driving and criminal mischief. All three are class-A misdemeanors.

Editorial note: A previous version of this story stated that Wilkinson was driving a tow truck. That information was inaccurate and we have corrected the story to state that he was driving a pickup truck.
