Gresham police increase patrols after man tries to lure girl into car

GRESHAM, Ore. – Gresham police are increasing patrols near Clear Creek Middle School after they said a stranger approached a sixth-grade girl and tried to lure her into his car Tuesday morning.

The girl was walking to her bus stop near North Main Avenue and 19th Street around 8:30 a.m. when a man pulled up in a car, rolled down the window, unlocked the door and said “get it”, according to police.

The girl ran away.

The bus stop is about 1 ½ miles from Clear Creek Middle School.

Police are asking parents and students to keep an eye out for the suspect. He’s described as a man in his 20s with a dragon tattoo on his right arm. He was wearing a white cap; possibly a baseball cap.

The suspect was driving a light-colored or silver Honda Accord.

Clear Creek Middle School posted a letter to parents on the school’s website.
