ALOHA, Ore. – Sheriff’s deputies took two men into custody after a carjacking in Aloha on Thursday.

Investigators described the men as persons of interest in the case. The men have yet to be charged with any crimes.

Sgt. Bob Ray with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the carjacking happened in the area of 23200 SW Farmington Rd.

The driver suffered minor injuries to his head and face. He was able to drive about a half-mile away from the suspects before deputies responded.

Ray said two men ran away on foot.

Deputies used K-9s and an airplane in their search for the suspects. They said an alert neighbor helped end the search.

Lynnette Bettis spotted the two men before the search began and then again five hours later. Deputies said the second tip she gave them was all the help they needed.
