Deputies search for jewelry store robbery suspect

ALOHA, Ore. – Washington County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a robbery suspect who they said threatened a jewelry store owner with a handgun in Aloha on Sunday morning.

It happened at the Northwest Gold Refinery jewelry store at around 10 a.m., according to Sgt. Bob Ray. The owner told deputies that an armed man entered the store and demanded jewelry.

The owner had no jewelry on hand, Ray said. The suspect ran out of the store empty-handed.

No one was hurt.

Witnesses told deputies the suspect was a thin black man in his 20s who is about six feet tall. He was wearing black shorts and a gray hooded jacket. Deputies said he possibly drove away in a black, older 4-door BMW.
