LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. – A Lake Oswego restaurant will likely be closed for at least one week after a fire Tuesday morning, firefighters said.
The fire at La Provence started at around 3:25 a.m., according to the Lake Oswego Fire Department. Firefighters saw smoke coming from the roof when they arrived and called for more resources.
Firefighters said the fire started inside a wall next to the kitchen. One sprinkler inside the building kept the fire under control until crews could extinguish it.
"Without this sprinkler system, the fire would have been way worse than the water damage it did," said Fire Marshall Gert Zoutendijk.
La Provence is located at 16350 Boones Ferry Road. The damage was estimated at $25,000.
