LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. – Residents on two streets in Lake Oswego near Portland Community College are being told to boil their water after a water line broke.
Only the homes on Cervantes and Erasmus Streets are under the boil water warning. For those residents, city officials told all residents they must bring water to a boil for a full minute before using it.
Tests showed that potentially harmful bacteria were found in the water. Boiling will kill any dangerous bacteria.
The order will remain in place until tests show the water is safe again. City officials expect that will happen by Saturday afternoon.
