Students return to Lake Oswego after crash that injured three girls
Four teens were injured in a head-on crash in Lake Oswego on Friday night.

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. – Lake Oswego High School students were back in class Monday morning thinking of several classmates who aren’t there.

Three girls are recovering from a head-on collision on their way from a football game Friday night.

One of the three – Maddie Owens - is out of the hospital, but the others are still being treated. Katie Brauti and Madison Focht are both in fair condition.

“This is a tight community,” said Owens’ drama teacher, Bob McGranahan. “The kids all know each other. A lot of them have gone to school together since they were little. They were sad, they talked a little bit about that, but they were also hopeful because by that time they knew that Maddie was going to be okay."

Over the weekend, there was plenty of activity at the school. Students gathered on campus Saturday to pray for the injured students, Owens missed the production of the play she’s in Saturday night.

Police don’t believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. In a news release Monday, police said it could take "a couple of weeks" for investigators to determine what caused the crash.
