GLADSTONE, Ore. - A local burger restaurant is helping the family of a 9-year-old girl who was killed in an accidental shooting in Oregon City.

On Tuesday, the Burgerville in Gladstone will donate 20 percent of all food sales (from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.) to Shayla Shonneker's family.

The money raised will go to a fund in the girl's name at Bank of America. Direct donations can also be made at any Bank of America Branch.

Shonneker was accidentally shot in the face by her mother's boyfriend earlier this month. Police said the girl was in her back yard while 32-year-old Joseph Wolters was inside a house practicing holstering and unholstering a handgun.

At some point, the gun fired and a bullet went through a wall struck Shonneker, who was 50 yards away. The girl died when she arrived at a hospital.

No charges have been filed against Wolters.
