Woman pleads guilty after meticulously torturing, killing neighbor's cat
Ashley F. Guldager
OAK GROVE – A 21-year-old woman with a history of mental illness will spend 90 days in jail for torturing a neighbor’s cat to death in April.

Ashley Guldager admitted to first-degree animal abuse and second-degree theft - for stealing the cat - as part of a plea agreement.

The homeless Guldager was staying with a friend when she stole the cat, tied it to a makeshift operating table with jumper cables and tortured it. Deputies found a razor, scissors, a large knife, a cigarette butt and a wet sponge near the shaven cat, which died of asphyxiation.

As part of the agreement, Guldager agreed to get help for her mental health and drug problems. She was also placed on 18 months of supervised probation, will be on bench probation for four years and eight months and is forbidden from owning an animal for 15 years.
