PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Moda Center has unveiled its new logo.
The new look for the home of the Portland Trailblazers, formerly known as the Rose Garden, is a plum-colored rose icon and the Moda Center wordmark.
"The rose pays tribute to the history of the building as well as a nod to the Rose City," a news release from the Moda Center said.
Work to display the new logo around the Rose Quarter campus has already begun. The external signs on the arena should be up in time for the Trail Blazers regular season home opener Nov. 2 against the San Antonio Spurs.
Additional signs and campus wayfaring should be finalized sometime after the home opener, officials said.
The design of the logo was created by Ziba, a Portland-based design and innovation firm, and was the result of three months of renderings and proposals.
