Motorcyclist badly hurt in crash; police arrest DUII suspect

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A motorcyclist ended up in the hospital with serious injuries after a crash with a car late Tuesday evening.

Police arrested the driver of the car, 28-year-old Jessica Peterson, on charges of DUII and reckless driving.

The crash happened just after 10 p.m. in the 4600 block of Northeast Portland Highway.

When officers and firefighters arrived, they found 26-year-old Chase Dillon Ivey on the ground with traumatic injuries.

Police took Peterson into custody. Investigators said she was driving eastbound on Northeast Portland Highway when she crossed into oncoming traffic and hit the motorcycle. Peterson's car also his another car. That driver was not hurt in the crash, police said.
