Police arrest boy, 14, accused of stabbing 15-year-old

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland police arrested a 14-year-old boy who they said stabbed a 15-year-old boy during a fight Sunday night.

Sgt. Pete Simpson said it happened just before 8 p.m. at the Gateway Transit Station on Northeast 99th Avenue. Officers arrived to find a 15-year-old boy who’d been stabbed. He is expected to survive, Simpson said. His name has not been released.

Police officers found the suspect, a 14-year-old boy, and took him into custody.

Simpson said the boys know each other. The stabbing happened during a group meeting at the transit station.

Detectives released the 14-year-old after conducting an investigation. The case will be presented to the District Attorney's Office, Simpson said.
