Police seek suspected car prowler, thief

PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland police are looking for a man who they said broke into a woman’s car, stole her purse and used her credit card to buy TriMet passes.

It happened on April 27 at the Liberty Centre parking garage on Northeast Holladay Street.

The victim told police that a car prowler stole her purse, which contained credit cards, cash, a digital camera and prescription glasses.

Police learned the suspect used the victim’s credit card to buy TriMet passes at the Northeast 7th Avenue MAX platform immediately after the alleged theft.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man in his 20s who is about 5’9’’ tall and weighs 170 pounds. He was wearing a plaid shirt, dark jeans and white shoes with black soles and white stripes.
