Three people seriously injured in crash on icy road in N. Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. – Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on an icy road in North Portland Monday morning.

It happened at 6:15 a.m. near North Columbia Boulevard and Burgard Street, according to Tommy Schroeder with Portland Fire and Rescue.

Firefighters who first arrived at the crash scene reported icy roads near the crash, Schroeder said.

Fire crews had to remove one person from a damaged vehicle. Three people were taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Icy roads were a factor in the crash, Schroeder said. Portland Fire and Rescue is warning drivers to be careful when temperatures are below or near freezing.
