Police investigate laptop thefts at NW Portland school

PORTLAND, Ore. – Someone broke into a Northwest Portland school and stole two laptops early Tuesday morning.

Portland Public Schools spokeswoman Christine Miles said an alarm went off at the Metropolitan Learning Center around 2:30 a.m.

Police found two broken windows when they arrived. They discovered a science room and an English room had been broken into, Miles said.

The only things that appeared to be missing were two laptops, one from each room, that belong to the teachers. Police are working with teachers and the principal during their investigation, Miles said.

The windows were replaced.
