PORTLAND, Ore. -- A man was arrested Monday afternoon in connection to a stabbing of a woman near Union Station in Northwest Portland.

The victim, a 27-year-old woman, was rushed to a Portland hospital with multiple stab wounds. Police say she's in serious condition but is expected to be OK.

Police officers were called to the stabbing just before 4 p.m. in the area of Union Station, 800 N.W. Sixth Ave.

As officers were responding, they learned the fleeing suspect was being held down by three men under the Broadway Bridge on Northwest Naito Parkway.

Police say Johnson, who had been in a previous relationship with the woman, got into an argument with her in front of The Yards apartments at 945 N.W. Naito Parkway and pulled out a knife and stabbed her.

Domestic violence detectives are investigating the stabbing.

Johnson will be arraigned on Tuesday.
