OREGON CITY, Ore. – A 4-year-old girl is expected to be OK after she fell from a third story window at an Oregon City apartment on Saturday.
It happened at the Hidden Creek Apartments just before 5 p.m.
Clackamas Fire spokesman Brandon Paxton said the girl’s injuries were not life-threatening and she was in “good condition” at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland.
The girl landed on bark mulch when she fell, Paxton said.
The fall was the first within Clackamas Fire’s response area this year. Last year, firefighters responded to five incidents of children falling from windows.
Clackamas fire is reminding parents to install safety stops, not just window screens, in all windows where there is a risk of a fall.
