Police: 'Modified fireworks' found near Sherwood railroad tracks

SHERWOOD, Ore. – Police removed three modified fireworks found along railroad tracks in Sherwood Sunday afternoon.

The Portland bomb squad was called to the scene as a precaution, according to Captain Ty Hanlon with Sherwood police.

The explosives were disposed of, Hanlon said. No one was hurt.

They were found along tracks near Southwest Oregon Street and Murdock Road. A large brush fire burned approximately 60 acres in the same area Saturday night.
