PORTLAND, Ore. – Police are looking for two men who they said robbed a contractor, tied him up and stole his truck in Southeast Portland Monday morning.
The victim told police he arrived at a home near Southeast 114th Avenue and Lexington Street to make some repairs when he was greeted by two men who demanded his phone, wallet and keys.
One of the suspected was armed with a handgun. It's unclear how or when the suspects entered the house.
Sgt. Pete Simpson said the suspects tied up the contractor and stole his Ford F-150 pickup truck. The truck was later spotted near Southeast 112th and Knapp Street. Police said there was no sign of the suspects.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was able to free himself and call 911.
The homeowners said the suspects also stole a laptop, TV and some money. They've changed the locks on their home.
"It makes you feel vulnerable and unsafe, and pretty unexpected because it seems like a nice neighborhood." said Tim, who didn't want to give his last name.
The suspect with the handgun is a white man in his 40s who is 5’8’’ tall with a medium build, Simpson said. He was clean-shaven and wearing dark clothes.
Police did not have a description of the second suspect.
