Investigators: 16-year-old was burglarizing homes in her neighborhood

PORTLAND, Ore. - Police say a 16-year-old girl is behind a string of burglaries at homes in Southwest Portland.

The teenager was taken into custody on Wednesday while police served a warrant at a home in the 11200 block of Southwest 45th Avenue.

She was arrested on charges of first-degree burglary. The girl is accused of stealing from five nearby homes and police said they found a number of items at her home that appeared to be stolen property.

The teenager is being held at the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Hall.
